He is a sensational player - Pep Guardiola tips 27-year-old star to win the 2024 Ballon d’Or ahead of Real Madrid players

Pep Guardiola has tipped Manchester City and England star Phil Foden to win the Ballon d'Or in 2024.

The Catalan coach was full of praise for the 27-year-old midfielder after his impressive performance in Manchester City's 4-0 win over Newcastle United on 13th August 2023.

Foden scored a stunning goal and created another for Erling Haaland as City moved top of the Premier League table.

Guardiola said Foden has the potential to be the best player in the world.

"He is a sensational player," Guardiola said. "He has everything. He is still young, but he has already shown what he can do.

"He can play in any position in midfield, and he can create chances for others as well as score goals himself."

"I have no doubt that he has the potential to be the best player in the world," Guardiola added.

Foden has been in impressive form for Manchester City this season.

He has scored eight goals and provided eight assists in 20 appearances in all competitions.

He was also named man of the match in the Community Shield win over Liverpool in July.

Foden is a key player for Manchester City as they look to retain their Premier League title and win the Champions League for the first time.

He is also a key player for England as they look to win the World Cup in Qatar in 2023.

If Foden can continue to perform at his current level, he will be a strong contender for the Ballon d'Or in 2024.
